Final Site: Made with Love

Being the kitchen creature that I am, for Christmas this year I opted to bake cookies. For those of you who haven't spent much time baking, this was neither an easier nor cheaper route than buying gifts. It 72 hours, 25 pounds of flour, 25 pounds of sugar, 18 pounds of chocolate, 43 sticks of butter, 6 dozen eggs and heartfelt research to create 15 boxes of cookies. When it was all said and done we had made 12 different kinds of cookies. A grand total of over 700 treats. And they weren't just any treats.. each batch of cookies was made for a specific person based on their favorite cookie, cupcake, candy or bar. My final website links to each of the recipes and gives a brief description of why we chose the cookies we chose for each of our friends and family.

A Website of My Own.

I recently created a website for myself. It's basically like a virtual resume, cover letter, blog and portfolio. I think it will be useful when applying for jobs post graduation.

Client Site: Adult Derby

Here is a link to the site I designed for Milwaukee Harley-Davidson. It was used to help promote The Adult Derby - an adult version of the Boy Scout's Pinewood Derby. I focused on incorporating social media tactics into the site, and therefore included a wide variety of widgets and feeds.

Scrumdidiliumptious - A taste of happiness

I designed a recipe web site called Scrumdidiliumptious. It is an extension of my personal food blog Scrumdidiliumptious. Let me know what you think.

I wonder which of these versions we'll be using in the future. Pretty cool video.

My Killer Portfolio

I'm looking to make an online portfolio to showcase my education and accomplishments.  A friend of mine has created one, and I really like her's. I'm flash illiterate, so my site would be sans the frills. I think the concept is cool though. In today's job market it's becoming increasingly more necessary to have substantial web presence such as this.

Things I should keep in mind for my portfolio:
  • Professional appeal
  • Simple and straight forward
  • Pages
    • Hire me
    • Resume
    • Stories
    • Examples
    • About me
  • Exhibit links to other social networking sites
  • Make contact info super accessible

Game on - A pretty cool web site.

Looking to fight off boredom? Try this fun website. Googlefight is simple and sweet. Curious who would win - Paula Dean or Giada De Laurentiis? Ghandi or Martin Luther King? Bill Clinton or Monica Lewinsky?  Here blows are determined by the amount of links on Google.

From an aesthetic approach the site jives well. There aren't many bells or whistles, it is what it is... funny and entertaining. The metalic gray and neon green color scheme works well for the site. I especially appreciate that the ads are not overpowering the content on the site.
